Six Simple Steps to Creating The Life That You Have Always Wanted
By Brenda Campbell

It truly is possible to enjoy a lifestyle that you choose and the first step to this is to know what you want and are passionate about. I know that sounds simple enough but a surprising number of people have no idea what they want in life or what they feel very strongly about. You know what; there are even experts who will assist you to find your passion. Any great coach will tell you that you start at the beginning with some life goals. So here are six very simple and effective steps to help you to get going.
1. Right now, this very minute, write down all of the things that you want to achieve in the next ten years. That's right, you got it, everything and do it very quickly; it will only take ten to fifteen minutes. Write at least 50 things under the following headings - What do I want to do, to be, to see, to have - Where do I want to go - What do I want to share?
2. Now, beside each of the things that you would like to have in your life, write the time that you want to have it in e.g. one year, ten years. Get some balance across the years. You do not want to have everything showing up immediately or have to wait ten years for your dreams to come true!
3. Choose your top four from each of the categories and you are getting close to knowing what you want. The others can go on hold for the moment.
4. Take a little time now and write one paragraph for each of your top desires in each of the categories. In this step you are writing exactly why you want to achieve this particular goal; you are writing about your purpose. What is it about that goal that sets you on fire and creates a heartfelt and burning desire to achieve it? Write those details about it, what it looks like, how it feels to have it. Build in your mind the picture of having it; start to imagine yourself with it. How will having it improve your life, how will it improve the lives of others?
5. Now focus your thoughts and attention upon this in a conscious and creative way. Be the cause in your life, you decide how it will be. Take time every day to read what you have written and start to find ways to break these big dreams down into small actions. Spend every possible moment imagining what it feels like to have this dream already come true.
6. Get started on some small actions and watch your dreams take shape. Do six things every day to bring your dreams to reality. Take action every day, believe that you will achieve your dreams, and have faith in yourself to do that!
The other option to taking charge, working out what you want, focusing attention and taking action to get it, is to move through life in an unconscious way, accepting whatever happens to come your way - sometimes good and sometimes not so good. Sometimes what you desire and sometimes not. This is when you are experiencing effect and not cause. It is much more fun to be at cause and feel the excitement when each of your dreams comes true. And what do you do when that happens? Why, you just line up your next list.
