Soul Whisperer How-to Books: "Fur Shui" and "Seekers of the Soul"
By Gerry Furth-Sides

Fur Shui is "animal whisperer" Paula Brown's delightful, clear introduction to feng shui for pets. In her conversational style and witty illustrations, Paula takes readers through the application of the ancient and venerable universal laws of energy drawn from the ancient Black Hat School of Feng Shui. She relates the principles to the world of animals, and pets in a system she calls, "fur shui

Paula has been able to communicate telepathetically with animals since she was a child. She spent many, many years learning the practices of feng shui in order to be a practitioner. Paula studied animals' flow of energy, with the purpose of promoting balance and harmony within the animals themselves, their human companions and the spaces they share at home.

Today this congenial Californian runs her own communications practice, The Heart of Conversation (Bird in Hand), and works as a guest lecturer for holistic and alternative healing organizations. Just speaking with her on the phone confirms her helpfulness and her love of what she does for animals.

In careful, specific terms, Paula explains and charts how heartfelt intent and careful attention to what and where objects are placed in a pet's environment have an immediate energetic impact. They can boost and enhance animal and human positive energies in every sector of the home. The Feng Shui bagua diagrams the sectors of career, health, family, relationships, creativity, skills, fame, travel and helpful people.

Fur Shui is now distributed in Canada and the UK, and, to Paula's delight, translated into Italian and much requested in Italy. Paula plans a speaking and workshop tour there this coming spring.

Also on the progressive agenda is the "Tour de Fur" in which 10 books were mailed out to be read, signed and passed forward to folks all around the world. Readers can follow the books' progress at: http://furshui.blogspot.com.

Fur Shui is a pleasure read (and reference book) in these trying times, one that proves to be an unconscious impetus to become more aware of the love, fun and comfort our "furry" friends provide. It is the (sorry!) purrfect and powerful Chinese New Year or Valentine's gift for any animal lover this February 14th. (Paula Brown 760.753.1954 paula@animalhearttalk.com)

In Seekers of the Soul: Seven Psychics and Intuitives Talk about Their Work, and The Lives That Led Them To It (Paperback), reporter Sherry Ward allows practitioners to simply describe their work and how they came about doing it in a clear, understandable way.

Seekers of the Soul profiles "everyday people" who are labeled psychics, visionaries, and intuitives because they are able to gain information using more than the traditional senses, and are able to communicate to others is "not there" in the physical world.

Ward chose the most principled, unique and skillful practitioners to explain in their own way how they use their gifts. It is always to provide seekers with spiritual insight, emotional wisdom, or at times a connection to a loved-one who has crossed over. The stories trace the individual's life path upon discovery of this gift and how it changed.

Ward was inspired to do the book because of her own experience. When doctors discovered a mass in her kidney but were uncertain about whether it was malignant, thus requiring radical surgery, the author consulted with five psychics who "intuited" that the mass was not malignant. They were accurate.

Seekers of the Soul is the answer to those who are curious about how psychics work or are intrigued by the extra-sensory realm. Once you have had a reading by a true psychic (I have) it is a long and difficult task to communicate the experience, usually in an anecdotal manner. The book provides strong reference material book for the uninitiated to use as guidance in this area.

Topics include the types of extra-sensory perception such as clairvoyance, clairaudience and claircognizance; what to be aware of during a psychic reading; whether intuitives are born with the gift or it is learned; use of the extra-sensory realm for guidance.

For more sophisticated readers, it confirms and adds a new look about how positive an element awareness and meditation, and self-protection are proven to be. Available in bookstores and online. (www.seekersofthesoul.com)
