The Dole Great Race of Agoura Hills Announces New Half Marathon in 2009
Event producers of the 24th Dole Great Race of Agoura Hills will be adding the Pacific Half Marathon coming March 28, 2009. The Pacific Half Marathon complements the Chesebro Half Marathon. The Pacific Half Marathon course weaves around the Santa Monica Mountains. Participants will toe up at Paramount Ranch, a former western Hollywood movie set. They will continue onto Cornell Road and Mulholland Highway's "Three Magical Miles" passing by Peter Strauss Ranch and scenic Malibou Lake, then travel north through historic Old Agoura and finish in Chumash Park.
The Pacific Half Marathon, is sponsored by Road Runner Sports, will join five other events. In addition the 24th Dole Great Race of Agoura Hills will offer: Old Agoura 10K, the Deena Kastor 5K, the Family Fun Run; and the Kids Mile.
The Agoura Hills' post party, set in Chumash Park in a picnic atmosphere, features live music, more than 50 vendor booths, giant inflatables for kids, giveaways and prize awards.
The Dole Great Race of Agoura Hills supports education in Agoura Hills and Oak Park. In addition to donating more than $1 million to elementary schools and high school athletic programs, the event also raises fitness awareness in children and adults alike.
Individuals and families are encouraged to register in advance at www.greatraceofagourahills.com. Registration will continue until the day of the race. Entry fees range from $20 - $70. 1-877-GR8-RACE.
TCG 2009 Juried Open!
Topanga Canyon Gallery kicks off 2009 with a celebration of food, wine, and art! Come and join this colorful community as it hosts it's annual TCG Juried Open with this year's juror, Laddie John Dill. Open-ing reception and awards ceremony begins from 2-5pm on January 18th!
