Two-time Lymphoma Survivor will keynote Oxnard Salsa Dash
Multi-marathon fundraiser, Audrey Duffy will speak to inspire

Audrey Duffy, a two-time lymphoma survivor, will be the keynote speaker at the 2nd annual Ventura County Salsa Dash on July 11th.

Audrey began her journey with cancer when she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

She became involved with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through fundraising, and then became a participant when she completed the Rock and Roll Marathon in San Diego.
Audrey states, “I have completed and fundraised for six half marathons, four marathons, six triathlons, and seven century rides.”

In 2005, Audrey’s cancer returned. and she had a stem cell transplant. “Join me in this fight.” she says, by paticipating.

X-Games - Behind The Big Air Event

Staples Center opens July 29, 2009 at 6p.m. for an exclusive VIP party with featured athletes from X Games 15. Guests can participate in a special “Autograph Alley” and collect signatures from their favorite Big Air competitors. (Previous year’s participants included Bob Burnquist, Tony Hawk, Shaun White, and many more.) Guests will also get to check out the ultra exclusive Big Air practice, with a bird’s eye view at the top of the 80 ft roll-in ramp. The third annual X-Games opening night party will take place atop the Staples Center City View Terrace, providing panoramic views of the ever-changing skyline of downtown Los Angeles. The award winning cuisine of Levy Restaurants, LA’s home for modern rock, KROQ, complimentary beer and wine and a silent auction of sports memorabilia, round out the Behind The Big Air Benefit.

Summer Twilight Thursdays

Stroll the Gardens every Thursday in July and August when Descanso is opened until 8 p.m. Check out the Gift Store which also will be open late. In addition, bring picnics and blankets for great outdoor entertainment during the “Warm Nights, Cool Sounds” concert series at the Under the Oaks Theatre.
