Tools for Uniquely Created Families
By Staff Writer

Guess Who? Multimedia celebrates parents who used adoption, egg donation, or gestational surrogacy to have their children, by releasing its "Love Makes a Family" Children's musical book series. These delightful audio-books feature families made possible by alternative means, and can be used as fun educational tools for parents to tell their children about their unique beginnings.

Love and nurturing fills the heart of every parent, and this includes parents without any regard to genetics, according to the pair. "You love your child no matter what path was taken to bring you together as mother and child," say Tina Rella and Molly Rose Siobhan Summer who created for parents the, Guess Who? Multimedia.

"If your child is adopted or you used assisted reproduction, you still want the best for them," says Molly. "And if you had some help along the way to parenthood, the subject will arise someday when your child is old enough to find him or herself curious about where he or she came from. When this time comes, it will be a very special moment between you and your child. This time is crucial and will create an even stronger bond between you and your child."

Tina continues, "When your child begins to ask questions about how they got here, as their mother, you want to offer a warm, loving explanation. When you decide that your child is mature enough to comprehend a simple version of how he or she joined your family, you'll want to consider using a tool to accompany your explanation."

Appropriately, 'Love Makes a Family' is the name of the book series by the "Guess Who?" company. The series features catchy, upbeat songs and brilliant, fun illustrations. These musical books can be used alone, or it is possible to purchase the accompanying music and sing along. It is also a series that children can clearly and easily understand.

"The goal of the series is to make your child feel that they are no different from their friends or classmates," says Molly. "As a mother or father, you want your child to feel safe and accepted, and loved. Once you convey to your child the lengths you went took to make them part of your family, and how much you wanted to be a mother, they will begin to understand just how much you love them. A mother's love is unlike any other, as only you and your child can comprehend and share. "

Every type of family will find a book to relate to in the "Love Makes a Family" series ~ gay & lesbian parents, single parents, and traditional parents who used sperm or egg donors and/or surrogates. There is an alternate book for each of the aforementioned parents that adopted as well.
