BEYOND…When French Cabaret meets the Mystery of Cirque!

Just imagine a French cabaret with phenomenal multi-cultural, world-class entertainers, dancers, aerialists, acrobats, and a smoky torch singer all in one show at the historic El Portal Theatre July 1-August 1.

BEYOND will excite and arouse audiences in a romantic delight for the senses!

BEYOND… is created and produced by international aerialist, acrobat, dancer and model Aurelien Roulin. Its World Premiere is a sexy, glitzy show featuring dancing from around the world and is the first show of its kind in Los Angeles.

In his own words, Roulin describes the show like this: BEYOND is a tribute to my life as an artist. Even though I grew up in a small town on the French/Swiss border, I always believed that dreams could become reality. This reality comes through love, passion and hard work. BEYOND is about the journey of a young man and his quest for love. It is from following his heart and revealing his passion for life that makes his dream become reality. This show is filled with my own love that I want to share with all of you.

BEYOND is the first show of its kind to combine expert dancing with elements most commonly associated with shows such as Cirque Du Soleil or Cirque Dreams. Topped off with a live torch singer, the final concoction encompasses expert dancing including ballroom, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre, jazz, Bollywood, Asian fusion, elegant French can-can and cabaret. Specialty acts include aerialists, a contortionist, hand balancing acrobats, a Cyr wheel artist - in which an acrobat twirls, spins, and rolls inside a giant hula-hoop-type apparatus - and an exciting Chinese pole act.

Featured performer (pictured) Sunny Soriano who captivates audiences with her signature style of movements that combine the elements of strength, power, and grace. She has toured and performed in numerous live stage shows, and at some of the biggest festivals and events in the world, notably the Coachella Music Festival (US) and the Electric Picnic (Ireland). She has also performed in various music videos and television and film projects, and has worked alongside with some of the greatest performing artists of our time, such as Sarah McLaughlin and Cindy Lauper. Most recently Sunny has graced the stages with The Black Eyed Peas, and Tiesto.

The international cast includes Alex David, Arthur Davis, Aurelian Roulin, Brittany O'Connor, Christine Ivy, David Matz, Gana Ganchimeg, Jennifer Shields, Jill Otte, Kavita Rao, Liz LeGrande, Michael Pena, Rachel Bowman, Ripley Rade, Sarah Romanowsky, Sunny Soriano, Yusuf Nasir.

BEYOND features original music from Emmanuel Moire of Paris, France, along with glamorous hand made costumes embellished with Swarovski crystals and jewels from Olivier Pascal, Frederic Couture and Les Oiseaux du Paradis of Paris, France. Additional museum quality costumes from India and around the world designed by Aurelien Roulin and Mikiko Nagao. Red Carpet Gala Opening Night is July 2, tickets are $100, which includes hors d'oeuvres, dessert bites and champagne reception sponsored by Far Niente, Nickel & Nickel and En Route Wineries from Napa, California. Special guest of honor will be Gilles Marini, star of the ABC television show Brothers and Sisters and Tele Mundo's Maximiliano Palacio. In addition the evening will salute and benefit the Southern California Lymphoma Research Foundation.
