Highland Hall Waldorf School Events 12th Grade Tea-March 14th

Why do our children learn what they learn when they learn it in Waldorf schools?

"If you are wondering how your child will fare in this unique education, this is an opportunity to hear from and speak to teachers and parents who've been through it all."

On March 14, 2009 from 10:30am to 12:00pm, you will have an opportunity to hear from teachers who have taught all the grades from 1 to 12, and parents of the 12th grade students.

A question and answer session will conclude the formal part of the event, after which we will all break for refreshments and conversation while we look at student work displayed for your enjoyment. Three students will show main lesson work from 1st to 12th grade so that you can see the evolution of a Highland Hall student. Other students will contribute artwork and crafts.

If you are wondering how your child will fare in this unique education, this is an opportunity to hear from and speak to parents and students who have been through it all. Not to be missed!

Temple Judea Purim Carnival
10 a.m. - 4 p.m. March 15

The Temple Judea Purim Carnival brings more than 3000 people together in the streets of our community for a day of fun and good will.

The biggest Purim Carnival in the valley, come dancing in streets, down Lindley Avenue opening the border of Encino and Tarzana to celebrate this special time with family and friends! This event serves as an extremely vital fundraiser for the Temple and will include a raffle, a silent auction and service auction, as well as a newly created community sponsorship area where the raffle and silent auction items will be displayed. The addition of community sponsorship area provides increased opportunity to proudly highlight Carnival sponsorship signage and display your business’ printed promotional materials (discount coupons, etc.) to those who attend the carnival-- extending exposure beyond our immediate neighborhood.

All net proceeds from the Purim Carnival go directly to scholarships and camperships for the Temple Judea Religious School and Early Childhood Center. In addition to the huge array of rides, games with great prizes, food and marketplace vendors, and a special KidZone for the little ones, this year’s Carnival is proud to present a day filled with a variety of performances, including live bands, a DJ, and interactive activities such as a money booth, drum circle and karaoke. Temple Judea welcomes all to an early morning Purim Sphiel. Kosher food will also be provided at this event. Temple Judea is a tax-exempt institution and all contributions are tax-deductible.
