Handmade Galleries Features a Bughouse Art Exhibit

Handmade Galleries will be the lucky host of a front window art exhibit designed and built by Jeff Klarin and Rebecca Johnson of Bughouse Art+Design whose focus is to create alternative expression in art objects and home décor.

Bughouse offers a range of products from quirky characters silhouettes as well as Eccentric home accessories, photographic wall décor and steampunk jewelry. Their Home furnishings include a chandelier made from hypodermic needles and coffee tables that emulate record albums.

Two window displays will be featured at Handmade, Decadence and Hope. Decadence juxtaposes a lush royalty display with objects of indulgence. Using the vernacular of pop culture, Decadence utilizes classic portrait engravings as wall hangings serving as the specter of power looming over a banquet scene of excess. As a pastoral counterpoint, Hope displays a dementedly smiling heart, an extra-terrestrial dog, and a hot dog that has sprouted limbs as it cascades down the grill of a hot pink bbq.

When: Saturday, May 30th, 2009
Time: 12pm-4pm
Where: Handmade Galleries

Join us in welcoming Jeff, Rebecca, and these unique displays as we reflect on the fear and hope in the world while casting a wry smile.
