Kravings World Fusion Steak House & Lounge
By Bruce Wildstein
It's always exciting to find a new restaurant that's doing a great job with a menu that they love. A relative newcomer to the Valley named Kravings World Fusion Steak House has recently appeared on the scene. Featuring two dining areas, a full bar, and a lounge, Kravings aims to be a destination spot for diners just about any time of day. Designed from the ground up by the owner, the space features beautiful hardwood floors, exquisite hanging lights, a beautifully appointed bar, and a theme of red color that gives it a sleek, hot look. The restaurant features a menu inspired by what's known as the Brazilian Rodizio. This style of food service features fixed-price menus with servers carving hot meats and other foods on skewers right at your table. Steaks, beef, shrimp, and chicken arrive hot from the fire throughout your meal. There is also a salad bar which features a large assortment of standard salad items plus over 30 hot and cold offerings like cheeses, shrimp, and smoked salmon. The lounge has an a la carte menu with tapas and appetizers plus live music.
Although many people visit a restaurant during the lunch and dinner hours, Kravings also has an excellent brunch served on Saturdays and Sundays. This is a champagne brunch, and it also features the Rodizio style of serving at least eight different fire roasted meats, fish, and poultry. For brunch, a few changes are made at the salad bar. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and poached eggs in tomato sauce are hot brunch items. Of course you still have all of your standard salad bar items, such as lettuce, tomato, garbanzo beans, string beans, asparagus, broccoli, beets, etc. And what would breakfast be without an assortment of fresh bagels? After taking a seat in the main dining room, fresh bread is brought to the table along with a plate of olive oil dip, and the unlimited glass of champagne is poured. Now you're on your way with this delicious meal. Take a plate and make your first visit to the salad bar. And with the Rodizio style of serving, you don't have to ask for your meats. The servers will come by periodically serve you. The selection varies a bit from day to day, but you'll always have at least eight to choose from throughout your meal. On our visit, we especially enjoyed the Brazilian Picanha, a prime cut of USDA choice top sirloin seasoned with sea salt. Next, Black Tiger Shrimp arrived, also served on a skewer, and these are marinated in a spicy saffron garlic sauce. They were also excellent. We continued to enjoy our salads, and then the Yakitori Chicken was served. It had a wonderful flavor made with Kravings own Yakitori sauce. By now we'd eaten quite a bit, and had even revisited the salad bar a couple of times. This was really the only way we were going to get to try most everything. But the skewers continued to arrive, as did more champagne. For the seafood offering, delicious swordfish cut in squares was also great. But wait, we weren't finished! Kravings also brought out their very tasty Polish sausage, again from the fire on a skewer. And for something lighter, they served sweet and succulent cinnamon sugar pineapple, hot and carved into thick slices. You haven't tasted pineapple like this before; it was almost like a dessert.
And although desserts aren't included in the fixed-price brunch, we just had to try something. Kravings home made Flan was delightful. It's a large, round portion swimming in caramel sauce and can certainly be enough for two.
Along with the fully stocked bar, Kravings also has a great wine selection; in fact over 2000 bottles are on hand. If you want to sit in the lounge, the menu features live Maine lobster, oysters, and King crab legs. And of course their excellent meats are also available. Many specialty cocktails such as their signature Pomegranate Martini are available.
Kravings World Fusion Steak House is serving up some high quality food at reasonable prices. You should seriously give them thought the next time you're looking for an excellent Saturday or Sunday brunch. It's certainly a great value considering everything you get and is served from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Or make a reservation for dinner or for lunch.
