A Cactus & Succulent Society Educational Show and Rare Plant Sale

The LA Cactus & Succulent Society is hosting a free, annual Educational Show and Rare Plant Sale in Encino on June 14-15 (9am-4pm).

Instead of the usual individual show plant submissions (and arguably subjective judging), this show will feature thematic collections of plants with descriptive signage – and the public votes on the best display…perhaps a few endangered Madagascan succulents, or maybe some freaky monstrose and crested cacti. Or, as license “LO H2O” proclaims, a display about low-water landscaping with succulents.

No fee to attend. Lots of vendors with rare succulents and cacti for sale. In the community garden abutting the south side of the 101, just west of the 405 on Magnolia at Havenhurst – at the Sepulveda Garden Center, 16633 Magnolia Boulevard.

June Kids’ Club Welcomes A WORLD OF BUBBLES
WHAT: The Kids’ Club at Northridge Fashion Center is a FREE program especially created for children ages 1-8. In June, A World of Bubbles brings fun and fantasy like kids have never seen before. Kids will get to stand inside a bubble, see a square bubble, and more at this show.

Each month members enjoy a variety of activities including art projects, puppet shows, music and live entertainment. At each Kids’ Club event, children are given a free ticket for a raffle drawing. By the end of each club meeting, Northridge Fashion Center awards raffle prizes, donated by mall retailers including movie tickets, and movie collateral (posters and t-shirts).

Kids’ Club meets the first Thursday of each month. To register for FREE, customers can visit Northridge Fashion Center's Customer Service on the lower level in JCPenney Court to receive a membership card and benefits flyer (retailers offers). Also, during their birthday month children will receive a special Kids’ Club birthday gift.
