Velkommen to Solvang
By Mel and Ronnie Greenberg

Straight out of a fairytale, Solvang cuddles at the crossroads of California's southern central coast, in the heart of wine country. Sunshine embraces this Danish-American town that perpetuates the spirit of Hans Christian Anderson. Magic prevails in its quaint painted streets, tiled curio shops, and windowsill flower boxes. Fanciful old world chimneys adorned with storks, thatch and weathered copper roofs, domes and spires greet. A sprinkling of creaking country-style windmills, the beguiling Little Mermaid statue, and the twinkling gas lit streetlights that illuminate the town complete the enchantment.
Begin the with classic European elegance at the Mirabelle Inn. There are ten individually decorated spacious guest rooms and suites, some with Jacuzzi tubs, and all featuring antiques, fireplaces and art. Comfy beds are dressed with luxurious featherbeds, down duvets and plump pillows. Guests are treated to a delicious gourmet breakfast. In late afternoon complimentary wine is accompanied with sliced fruit, and an amazing assortment of cheese and nuts. Tea, coffee, and cookies are available throughout the day. Owner Brigitte Guehr, and Marc Tidago the personable innkeeper, will make your stay memorable.
The Mirabelle Restaurant's Chef Mario Ramos oversees exquisite wine country cuisine that includes grilled lamb chops, baked brie in puff pastry and Alaskan halibut. His menus are inspired by local fresh ingredients and presented with world class professional table service.
