When Jack Hertz decided to semi-retire from the jewelry business, he thought he would be able to take a break from the passion he has carved for over 40 years. Not only has retirement been put on hold but his passion continues to be striking gold and silver. "It has been an amazing experience, "Cheryl Hertz said.

Jack "JB" Hertz and his wife Cheryl run a small jewelry company "Ausloe Design" in Calabasas. "Ausloe is a combination of the names of our grandchildren- 4 year old Austin and 8 month old Chloe," Cheryl Hertz said. The business was under a different name a few years ago and then they decided to change the name for their grandchildren.

JB Hertz makes every piece of jewelry by hand. Hertz incorporates old world techniques into trendy stylish jewelry. "Jack uses antique stamps handed down from his grandfather to make personalized charms, "Cheryl Hertz said.

The jewelry is one of a kind and weaves together someone's story. "What is chosen to be put on makes the person's story real, "Hertz remarked.

The charms are made of 14kt. gold, sterling or silver. Some customers have mixed different metals to create a unique and personal showpiece. Ausloe Design caters to anyone-no budget is too small.

While Jack is in the workshop perfecting his latest creation, Cheryl enjoys being the leader in customer service. "I love working with customers, "Cheryl beamed.

Cheryl maintains the company's website-www.ausloedesign.com and handles the sales and customer service. "Most orders are by phone but we do get e-mail orders too, "Cheryl said. Locally based in the San Fernando Valley, Ausloe Design will ship throughout the United States.

Advertising has been successful by the good old fashioned word of mouth and with the help of Jenslist.com.

It seems like JB and Cheryl Hertz may not be joining the elite group of retirees any time soon. "The business keeps Jack young, "Cheryl says.

With every piece of jewelry Jack Hertz designs keeps this husband and wife duo content.

'We feel like we are doing something wonderful and it makes us very happy, "Cheryl Hertz said.
