Brewery Art Walk

The Brewery Art Colony is the world's largest artist live-work environment of its kind. Twice a year, over 100 Brewery residents open their studios to the public in the Brewery Art Walk. The event is always festive and well-attended. The Art Walk is notable as much for the copious amounts art (and related creatables) on display and for sale as it is for people watching and the opportunity to experience live-work spaces of the residents (assuming you're partial to innovative and eclectic interior design). And it's a bit of a treasure hunt too-- yes, you get a map, but navigating the facility is by no means a gimme.

The layout is circuitous and verges on overwhelming, particularly for greenhorns, and you can easily deviate trying to cypher the topography (not altogether a bad thing-- because no matter where you end up, there's always something to see). The good news-- once you get a grip, the confusion abates and you can peruse the offerings more effeciently.

The Brewery ArtWalk takes place:
November 1st and 2nd, from
11:00 am - 6:00 pm

Admission is free and so is parking. Come support LA’s finest artists, take home some great works and and dine at the on-site restaurant. If you have questions or require more information, please contact us via email or snail mail:

11TH SEASON FOR LA DOWNTOWN ON ICE
OUTDOOR SKATING RINK AT PERSHING SQUARE

The ultimate chill and a yuletide glide at the biggest Southland holiday outdoor ice skating rink with the smallest admission price, LA DOWNTOWN ON ICE, is celebrating its 11th spectacular season at Pershing Square, (532 South Olive, LA), open everyday November 20, 2008 through January 19, 2009.

With a low admission price of only $6 (+skate rental $2), it's the coolest way to add a little winter chill to the holidays without breaking the bank. Scheduled special events include free youth hockey clinics, a free concert series, a free Winter Holiday Festival, weekend Kids Zone interactive entertainment, and more. Over the past decade it has become the number one winter destination for families, thanks to sponsorship from the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, the Los Angeles Kings, and Councilmember Jan Perry (9th District).

Even a Grinch couldn't help but enjoy skating under the sun and stars in the heart of Los Angeles at what has been hailed as the Rockefeller Center of the West. Now a holiday tradition with Southlanders, the vast bedeckled outdoor oasis is framed by towering skyscrapers, trees and stunning historical landmarks. Centrally located in the heart of the City of Angels, the facility is easily accessible by car, bus or rail. The convenient stop at Pershing Square Station makes getting there easy. Underground discount parking is available with validation.
