BLOOD DONOR HITS RECORD AT NORTHRIDGE HOSPITAL MEDICAL CENTER

Did you know that one blood donation can save up to three lives? That means Northridge Hospital's former media production manager Craig Mackles has given enough blood to save 303 people! Craig made his 101st donation at April's blood drive-making him the most generous donor in Northridge Hospital's history! To commemorate this milestone, the Blood Donor Center and President Mike Wall honored Craig with a "Lifesaver Award" and an engraved "101 Donations" pen.
Currently in the U.S., there is no substitute for blood, and donated blood is only good for approximately one month. That's why we rely on caring people in the community like Craig to help us meet the needs of our trauma, surgical and medical patients
Here are some ways you can help make sure blood is there for every patient…
4 Donate blood at our next hospital drive - we have them
four times per year! Call (818) 885-5345 to schedule an appointment.
4 Donate blood at any American Red Cross site. Call 1-800-Give Life or log onto www.givelife.org and enter a zip code to find the nearest location. The website also has information about donor eligibility.
4 If you are unable to donate, please encourage your friends and family to donate.
