Saturday, April 20, 2024 Plein Air Paint Out - Noon - 3 PM & Plein Air Exhibit - 4 PM                                       Pleins Air Paintout and Reception at Ventura Harbor:                                                                                                                                                                                                                Delve into vibrant art and culture, and discover a passion for art at the Plein Air Paint Out.  As part of this event, The Buenaventura Art Association at Harbor Village Gallery and Gifts is hosting 12+ artists to create paintings of beautiful Ventura Harbor.  Come by and witness one-of-kind art being made in real time that captures the beauty of harborscapes, boats, plants, and animals that all call Ventura Harbor home along the Promenade.  Featured artists include Bebe Betker, Jim Darin, Erin Dertner, Lois Freeman-Fox, Michelle Nosco, Vickie Pellouchoud, Linda Rinaldi, Ed Terpening, Helle Urban, and Mary Zangerle.   The En Plein Air exhibit will be on display in the Harbor Village Gallery & Gift’s courtyard, where the artists will share their paintings. Walk-ins are welcome, and pre-registration is not required.   All volunteers are asked to please wear closed toed shoes and sun protection. Each is encouraged to bring a reusable bucket, gloves, and water bottle. All participants will be provided with Instructions, volunteer waivers, data cards, trash and recycling bags, gloves, and water. Parking is available near Channel Islands National Park Visitor Center, 1901 Spinnaker Drive, Ventura. Individuals and families can meet a ranger in front of the visitor center. National Park Week:

      Love national parks?  There’s a holiday for this! National Park Week.  What’s more is that Ventura Harbor is the launching point to the beautiful Channel Islands National Park and also the home of the Channel Islands National Park (CINP) Visitor Center!  Besides the Beach Cleanup With The Channels Islands National Park, Here are several other ways to celebrate National Park Week seaside:

--Stop by the Channel Islands National Park Visitor Center for Junior Ranger Day on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 1-4  PM! Festivities are FREE for children and families. Drop by to explore the park and earn a sticker, pin, or badge. --Enjoy the gallery exhibit of Tim Hauf’s photographs that be on display in the theater on Sunday,  April 28, 2024. As April is National Poetry Month, the Visitor Center will also have a unique “Poetry in the Garden” walk from 10 - 10:45 AM in the native plant garden.

Celebrate Earth Day:

      Celebrate Earth Day with us! Do your part to keep the oceans clean every day.  Visit the Village Visitor Booth for an opportunity to participate in keeping the harbor clean by helping to collect a small bucket of trash in planters or along the promenade.  Then, enter to win fun prizes, and receive a free Harbor Village sticker to adorn a reusable water bottle. As part of the festivities, do not miss a visit to the SEEAG‘s booth, where they will be selling seedlings and promoting awareness surrounding sustainable agriculture.  Garden and nature lovers can pre-order their plants and pick these up from 10 AM - 2 PM at the Booth on the Promenade. Don’t forget to get involved in Junior Ranger Day! Stop by the Channel Islands National Park Visitor Center from 1-4 PM to learn of new activities this year!
