Malibu, CA On Sunday October 29th, nonprofit Safety Harbor Kids is having their 10th Annual Concert Fundraiser to support music education programs for orphans, foster and homeless children.  The event, hosted by Topa Mountain winery in Ojai, will include music by Robby Krieger of The Doors, drummer and Chicago co-founder, Danny Seraphine, KISS guitarist Tommy Thayer, singer, actor Tony Grant of AZ Yet and the Tyler Perry show, Jeff Beck bassist Phil Chen, SHK Music Director Edward Roth on keys .

 

Robby Krieger, wrote hits for The Doors including “Light My Fire”, “Touch Me” and “Love Her Madly” among others.  Danny Seraphine wrote and contributed to many of Chicago’s hits including “Lowdown", “Street Player” and others. Guests will also enjoy special entertainment by Maria Elena Infantino.  Also performing will be American Idol top four finalist, Jessica Meuse accompanied by drummer Rock Deadrick of the Jacksons, Ben Harper and Tracy Chapman, they will have a live Facebook broadcast by the soulful and sweet sounds of singer songwriter, Kirsten Collins.  The evening will be emceed by comedian and radio personality, Hal Sparks. 

 

The venue, Topa Mountain Winery in Ojai, CA offers spacious grounds with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. VIP guests will enjoy appetizers, dinner, glass of wine, drinks and an area upfront to view the show.  Guests will also enjoy a complimentary cappuccino bar by LongShot Australian Roast Coffee and organic tea by Charles and Company, Hint Water and Lori’s Lemonade.

 

Businesses supporting the event include GPS Security, Southern California Life Magazine, Ojai Business Center, Hollywood Studio rentals, Drum Paradise and All Access Stage, Ventura County Blues Society.  Since 2007, SHK has partnered with such companies as SoCal Edison, Guitar Center, McCabe’s Guitar Shop, Wells Fargo, Hint Water, and others to raise funds for the charities education programs. 

 

“The children we serve have nothing – no parents, no family, no transportation.”  Says SHK President, Petrie Alexandra Williams.  “Without our help the girls will end up on the streets kidnapped, raped and trafficked.  This is real and it’s in your backyard – these kids need your help..”  She states emphatically.

COMMUNITY HERO SAVES HEART ATTACK VICTIM

 

Ceremony to Present Good Samaritans with

“Act of Humankindness Award”

When a stranger witnessed a man collapse on the sidewalk, he rushed to the stricken man’s aid and began CPR. As he continued his desperate attempt to save the man’s life, he begged others passing by to help. Finally, a second man stopped, called 9-1-1 and assisted with CPR until paramedics arrived. The patient was brought to Dignity Health - Northridge Hospital’s Emergency Department where he was treated.    If it were not for the efforts of these two men, Christopher Henney and E. Javier Cruz, the patient may not have survived.  Both men will be awarded with a special “Act of Humankindness Award” at the hospital alongside the surviving patient and fire fighters who were at the scene.
